Aubert & Duval boosts safety and cuts forklift handling time by 75% with RFiD Discovery’s LiftTrak
RFiD Discovery, a leading provider of identification and location tracking solutions, has successfully deployed its LiftTrak solution at Aubert & Duval, a global leader in high-performance metallurgical solutions, dramatically transforming the tracking of aerospace parts across the company’s 23-hectare site.
The innovative system provides real-time visibility of inventory indoors and outdoors without fixed infrastructure - significantly enhancing driver safety and delivering a 75% reduction in forklift handling time equivalent to three full-time employees.

Since implementation, over 6,000 items have been RFID-tagged and six forklifts equipped with LiftTrak. The system has cut manual tasks by up to two hours per week per vehicle. Crucially, it eliminates the need for drivers to dismount for scanning, enabling safer, hands-free operation and in line with Aubert & Duval’s goal of ensuring the safest possible working environment.
Operating with a workforce of 1,140 employees across 11 buildings and managing over 3,000 daily part movements, Aubert & Duval has integrated LiftTrak seamlessly with its SAP system.
The solution uses robust, battery-less UHF RFID tags and forklift-mounted readers to identify items, with shelf-position tags for indoor areas and GPS for outdoor zones. This enables precise stock location tracking in all conditions, even under extreme temperatures.

Emmanuel Troncet, One A&D Digitalisation 4.0 Director, said:
From the outset, despite on-site challenges, our logistics team showed strong engagement thanks to the supportive setup. Following a successful testing phase and necessary refinements, LiftTrak now operates fully autonomously, driving tangible improvements in safety, efficiency, and productivity.
This deployment underscores Aubert & Duval’s commitment to innovation in logistics and operational excellence, leveraging smart technologies to enhance workflows and secure long-term gains in performance.
Arron Duddin, Head of RFiD Discovery, added:
We’re proud to support Aubert & Duval in their digital transformation journey. LiftTrak was designed to bring automation and safety to material handling operations, and it's rewarding to see those benefits come to life at such a complex and high-performing industrial site.
