Uniform tracking
Benefits
The use of RFID readers has reduced the time our drivers spend when collecting garments. A whole collection bag full of items can now be scanned simultaneously and without having to take a single garment out of the bag.
Uniform tracking
The RFiD Discovery solution has a proven track record of using RFID technology to track the location of a multitude of different assets in different industries. It provides a scalable solution that allows users to quickly collect and report on asset data, replacing error prone manual and paper-based processes.
Tracking uniform items with RFID technology can help reduce the annual capital expenditure on replacement assets by improving utilisation levels, increasing accountability and reducing losses. Inventory can also be monitored automatically and in real-time with the help of fixed RFID readers. Audits of specific locations, i.e. a particular vehicle or room, can be carried out with mobile readers in seconds.
Manual scanning can often result in human errors with assets being missed. Our technology allows multiple items to be scanned automatically and simultaneously, saving time and eliminating opportunities for human error.
The RFiD Discovery platform can be integrated with other enterprise systems, such as your asset management database or accounting system to ensure that assets which need to be serviced can be located easily and customers are charged the correct service or hire fees.
Easy visibility of historic tracking data provides valuable insights on whether service level agreements are adhered to, or key performance indicators are achieved.
Uniform tracking use cases
Tracking staff uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) can benefit multiple different industries including:
- Emergency services such as fire brigades, police, ambulance
- Hospitals and other healthcare providers
- Hospitality and leisure companies
- Retailers
How does uniform tracking work?
Passive RFID tracking
Each newly manufactured uniform item is fitted with a passive RFID tag to enable the automatic tracking of items through the managed services care programme.
Long-lasting heat and water resistant tags
Waterproof neoprene fabric RFID tags can be securely sewn into a pocket in the garment or attached to an internal label. Tags can withstand temperatures of up to 180 degrees, which means they survive in most emergency services conditions as well as during professional cleaning procedures.
Handheld RFID reader
Each uniform item is scanned using a handheld RFID reader at key points of the managed services process, from point of collection at the emergency services through washing, inspection and repair cycles right through to return delivery.
