The role

RFiD Discovery (Part of Paragon ID) is seeking a talented energetic developer to take on the role of a .NET Software Developer within our busy development team.

In this role, you'll be working on innovative solutions, translating requirements into effective technical solutions, and playing a key role in the development and delivery of projects. You must be able to work both independently and part of the team focussing on the delivery of disparate solutions to budget.

Responsibilities

• Providing accurate estimates for user stories and backlog items
• Translating user stories and backlog items into logical units of work
• Evaluating technical feasibility
• Translating requirements and acceptance criteria into technical solutions
• Producing well structured, efficient, and reliable code within the agreed timescales, using the technologies selected for the solution

Key relationships

You will work closely with the Software Manager through all phases of the SDLC.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) - essential
• 2 years+ experience - essential

Key skills: 

• Competent in delivering software solutions using the Microsoft technology stack (.NET Core, C#, VB 6.0, VB.NET, .NET, ASP.NET, MVC, Webforms, SQL Server (T-SQL)) - essential 
•  Knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) - essential 
• Working within Jira for requirements - desirable 
• Awareness of DB design and optimisation skills - essential 
• Experience with REST API communication - essential 
• Strong communication skills - essential
• Highly analytical with a keen eye for detail - essential 
• Able and willing to help other team members with their tasks where needed - essential 
• Very good written and spoken English, used day-to-day in a professional environment - essential
