Simon Dawkins, Senior RFID Consultant – Healthcare at RFiD Discovery has been chosen to deliver a presentation at the forthcoming NPAG Clinical Engineering event in September. Titled ‘RFID Tracking for medical devices – How to plan your implementation and avoid pitfalls’ the talk will give practical advice on introducing RFID tracking at an NHS Trust from useful case studies and evidence for a business case right up to the challenges of implementation.
Simon will be calling upon his years of experience as Head of the Medical Equipment Library at Cambridge University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) where he pioneered the use of active and passive RFID tracking for a total of 37,500 mobile medical devices, including the first roll-out of GS1 compliant asset labelling in an NHS Trust. Using RFID tracking, Simon has improved efficiency, increased patient safety and delivered significant savings to CUH.
The NPAG Clinical Engineering Conference will be held on 18th September 2018 at Wolverhampton Racecourse. Organised by the NHS National Performance and Advisory Group this annual event is specifically designed for Clinical Engineering and EBME Managers to exchange ideas and learn about the latest developments and technologies.
Our RFID experts will be on hand all day on our exhibition stand to advise how Trusts can improve efficiency, cut costs and increase patient safety using latest RFID technology. As GS1 industry partner, we can also help with any GS1 asset labelling requirements.
